Art Del Cueto, a former Border Patrol agent and current security advisor for the Foundation for Accountability in Research (FAIR), has launched a sharp critique of Democratic leaders for what he describes as inflammatory anti-ICE rhetoric. Del Cueto, who has spent decades working on the border, argues that the Democratic Party’s public criticism of ICE is not only misleading but also actively damaging efforts to secure the U.S. border. He stated that the rhetoric has contributed to a sense of fear and uncertainty among law enforcement personnel, who are already stretched thin by increasing migration pressures.
Del Cueto’s comments come amid an FBI investigation into an attack on an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of federal agents and the potential for further violence against immigration enforcement agencies. Speaking at a press conference, Del Cueto called for a more nuanced discussion of border security that focuses on practical solutions rather than political posturing. ‘The real issue is ensuring our borders are secure,’ he said. ‘But instead of supporting that goal, some politicians are choosing to fan the flames of division and distrust.’
