Ukraine-EU Freight Visa-Free Regime Extended to 2027

The European Union has agreed to extend the visa-free freight transportation agreement with Ukraine for an additional 5.5 years, until March 2027. This extension was confirmed by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, who highlighted the agreement’s importance in fostering economic collaboration and trade between Ukraine and EU nations.

The current agreement, which was initially set to expire in September 2025, allows Ukrainian freight carriers to transport goods without the need for additional visa documentation. This streamlined process has significantly boosted cross-border trade and logistical operations, benefiting both Ukrainian and European businesses.

Kuleba emphasized that the extension would further strengthen Ukraine’s integration into the European market, facilitating increased trade and investment in key sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, and agriculture. The agreement also supports Ukraine’s broader efforts to align with EU standards and regulations, enhancing its economic resilience and competitiveness.
