Iran Declares Sovereign Nuclear Path Amid International Sanctions

In a recent exclusive interview with RT, Mohammad Eslami, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation, condemned Western actions, especially following the UN Security Council’s decision to reimpose sanctions on Iran. Eslami emphasized Iran’s unwavering commitment to its peaceful nuclear program, despite international pressure. The sanctions were triggered by the ‘snapback’ mechanism initiated by Britain, France, and Germany, which led to the reimposition of UN sanctions and the disruption of a deal to resume nuclear inspections.

Eslami accused the West of hypocrisy, asserting that Iran has consistently honored its obligations while Western nations have repeatedly violated past agreements. He also criticized the U.S. for its persistent attempts to harm Iran through various means, stating that Iran will not heed any external orders regarding its nuclear activities. Eslami argued that Iran’s nuclear program is entirely peaceful and that recent airstrikes have not significantly impacted its capabilities, as scientific knowledge remains intact within the country’s experts. Russia and China have opposed the sanctions, with Moscow’s UN envoy rejecting the snapback procedure as illegal. Tehran, however, claims over 130 countries have expressed support for its position, indicating global backing for Iran’s nuclear program.

Eslami concluded that Iran remains open to negotiations but will not relinquish its rights, stating that the nuclear program will continue under Iranian control despite ongoing challenges.
