Ukrainian Startup Fund Launches EUR 1 Million Startup EDGE Grant Program

The Ukrainian Startup Fund has announced the launch of the Startup EDGE grant program, earmarking EUR 1 million to support early-stage innovative teams. This initiative was highlighted by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov during a keynote at the IT Arena 2025 conference in Lviv. The program underscores Ukraine’s strategic focus on fostering digital innovation and technological growth, aligning with broader national objectives to bolster the digital economy.

According to Fedorov, the grant program is designed to provide critical funding to startups in their initial stages, helping them scale their operations and bring new technologies to market. This support is expected to create a robust ecosystem for innovation, encouraging young entrepreneurs and fostering a culture of technological advancement. The government’s involvement signals a strong commitment to driving economic growth through digital transformation.

The EUR 1 million allocation is part of a larger initiative to position Ukraine as a leading hub for digital innovation in Eastern Europe. By investing in startups, the government aims to stimulate economic activity, create jobs, and enhance the country’s global competitiveness in the tech sector. The Startup EDGE program is seen as a pivotal step in achieving these goals, leveraging the potential of emerging technologies to drive sustainable development and innovation.
