Venezuela Alerts US of Embassy Bombing Threat

Venezuela has warned Washington of a potential bombing at the closed US Embassy in Caracas, citing extremist groups as the perpetrators. National Assembly Speaker Jorge Rodriguez claimed the government had notified the United States through multiple channels about the threat, which he attributed to right-wing extremists.

The US Embassy has remained under guard since its closure in 2019, following the breakdown of diplomatic ties with Washington after the recognition of Juan Guaid’to as interim president. Recent tensions have intensified with US military strikes on Venezuelan vessels, which were framed by the US as anti-narcotics operations. Maduro has rejected these claims, accusing Washington of attempting to destabilize his government through regime change efforts.
