Kristin Davis Apologizes to Bridget Moynahan for Past ‘Mean Girl’ Behavior on ‘Sex and the City’

Kristin Davis, 60, who played Charlotte York on the original ‘Sex and the City’ series, has apologized to Bridget Moynahan for her “mean girl” behavior during filming. Davis recalled that while she used to be friendly with guest stars, she found it harder to be so with Moynahan due to the character dynamics. On Monday, Moynahan appeared on Davis’ podcast ‘Are You A Charlotte?’ where the two discussed their time on the show. Davis admitted that she gave Moynahan the cold shoulder on set, feeling that Moynahan was a ‘nemesis’ due to her role as Natasha.

Moynahan, a star of ‘Blue Bloods,’ reassured Davis that she didn’t hold her past behavior against her. Moynahan said that she felt bad because they were both young and Davis was new to the set. Davis expressed guilt over her behavior, as she didn’t realize how much she had internalized Charlotte’s worldview. The two actresses recalled their on-screen rivalry, where Natasha was the love interest of Mr. Big, Carrie’s ex-lover. Moynahan noted that she sometimes felt vilified by fans for being in the way of Carrie and Big’s relationship.

Moynahan first appeared in the show as Natasha in the second season, when she was introduced as Mr. Big’s new fiancée. The storyline saw Carrie, who had recently broken up with Big, being hurt by his quick move on. By Season 3, Natasha and Big had married, but the relationship eventually ended after a discovery of an affair. Moynahan returned to the show as a guest star in the 2021 revival series ‘And Just Like That…’, where she and Carrie had a meaningful conversation after Big’s death, providing closure to their characters. Davis praised their reunion and noted the growth within the characters despite their role as supporting figures to Carrie.
