IAEA Announces Restoration of External Power to Zaporizhia NPP via Ukrainian Grid

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General, Rafael Mariano Grossi, has announced that the process to restore external power supply to the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in Ukraine is underway. This effort, which will connect the plant to the Ukrainian power grid via the Dniprovska and Ferosplavna-1 transmission lines, is the outcome of ongoing negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

Grossi emphasized that this initiative is crucial for ensuring the safety and stability of the plant, which is a significant energy source for Ukraine. He noted that the IAEA is working closely with both parties to facilitate the restoration of power in a manner that adheres to international safety standards. The successful implementation of this plan would mark a critical step in the normalization of energy infrastructure in the region.
