His nomination was previously pulled on May 31, the same day that Musk’s tenure with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) ended. Trump, who had earlier criticized Isaacman’s affiliations with Musk, is now reportedly reconsidering him, suggesting a potential shift in the administration’s stance regarding the tech magnate. The acting administrator, Secretary Sean Duffy, has been meeting with candidates in accordance with Trump’s direction, emphasizing a focus on mission alignment and American leadership in space. Isaacman, a renowned private astronaut and founder of Shift4 Payments, had spent months navigating the Senate’s confirmation process when his nomination was withdrawn.
