Vikings Condemn Racist Messages Aimed at Isaiah Rodgers After Loss to Eagles
The Minnesota Vikings have condemned the racist messages defensive back Isaiah Rodgers received following their 28-32 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Rodgers shared the offensive comments he received on social media, which included racial slurs.
The team released a statement on the incident on Monday, expressing their disgust at the racial slurs and reaffirming their stance against racism in sports and society. The statement emphasized their support for Rodgers and other players who frequently face such ignorant and prejudicial behavior.
Rodgers added that the messages weren’t even the worst he’s seen, stating, “Racism is real. Keep football, football. That’s not even the worst I’ve seen. Stay solid or stay silent. ‘Fans.’ Fake applause, no support or faithful and never switching. Pick a side and stay on it!”
Rodgers, who joined the Vikings in the offseason after previously playing for the Eagles, has been making an impact this season with 21 tackles, one interception, a touchdown, and two pass breakups in six games.
