Ukraine Invited to Join OECD Anti-Bribery Convention

Ukraine has been invited to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials, according to Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka. The invitation comes as part of Ukraine’s broader efforts to align with European and transatlantic institutions. Kachka emphasized that this development supports Ukraine’s commitment to transparency and anti-corruption measures.

The OECD Convention aims to prevent bribery of foreign public officials in the private sector. By joining the convention, Ukraine would commit to strengthening its legal and institutional frameworks to combat corruption. This move is seen as a positive step in Ukraine’s journey toward European Union (EU) membership and closer ties with the United States and other Western partners.

The announcement was made during discussions on Ukraine’s integration into international organizations. Kachka noted that the invitation reflects international recognition of Ukraine’s efforts to improve governance and public accountability. Analysts suggest that this development could enhance Ukraine’s credibility in global trade and investment negotiations.
