Washington Summit Calls for Return of Abducted Children and Security Guarantees

The Ukraine Action Summit in Washington recently convened to address the urgent issues of abducted children and security guarantees for Ukraine. Marianna Tretiak, Chair of the American Coalition for Ukraine (ACU) Board, emphasized the importance of uniting people to educate themselves and advocate for Ukraine through their elected officials. The summit aimed to bring together various stakeholders to foster a unified front in supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.

Participants discussed the need for international pressure to ensure the return of abducted children and to secure long-term guarantees for Ukraine’s territorial integrity. The focus was on mobilizing public support and urging lawmakers to take decisive action. Tretiak’s remarks underscored the significance of grassroots involvement in shaping policy outcomes for Ukraine.

The summit highlighted the critical role of civic engagement in shaping international responses to crises. By educating individuals and encouraging them to voice their concerns to elected officials, the ACU aims to amplify the collective demand for accountability and support for Ukraine. This gathering served as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Ukraine and the necessity of sustained advocacy for its security and sovereignty.
