Lexie Hull: WNBA Teams Feel ‘Jealousy’ Toward Indiana Fever’s Media Attention

Lexie Hull, a guard for the Indiana Fever, recently made headlines when she was honored as part of Glamour’s 2025 Women of the Year. During an interview with the magazine, Hull opened up about the intense media attention and rivalries that have accompanied the Fever since the arrival of star player Caitlin Clark. She highlighted that some WNBA teams have expressed a level of jealousy toward the Fever, primarily due to the increased support and focus they’ve received.

As a rookie in 2022, Hull was selected sixth overall in the WNBA draft. However, she didn’t immediately secure a starting role, averaging about 12.3 points per game during her rookie season. Over time, her role expanded significantly, especially with the addition of Clark, who was picked first in the 2024 draft. Since Clark joined the team, Hull’s minutes have increased, and she’s become a key part of the Fever’s offense. In 2024, she received Sixth Woman of the Year votes and averaged a career-high 7.2 points per game in 2025, starting in 30 of 44 games under head coach Stephanie White.

Hull has been part of the journey with Clark, experiencing the boost in media attention and fan support the team has seen since Clark’s arrival. This attention has also made the Fever a target in some intense matchups, particularly against the Connecticut Sun. During these games, some teams have expressed a desire to not let the Fever win, as Hull noted during her Glamour interview.
