The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained a Russian agent in the Donetsk region, who had been posing as a cleaner to collect intelligence on Ukrainian soldiers’ residences. The individual, a 54-year-old resident of the front-line town of Druzhkivka, was apprehended after being identified as a Russian spy.
This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by Ukrainian authorities to counter Russian espionage activities in the war-torn region. SBU officials have emphasized that such operations are part of a broader strategy to protect military assets and gather critical intelligence for the defense of Ukraine. The identification and apprehension of the spy demonstrate the service’s commitment to uncovering and neutralizing threats from enemy forces.
