Yosvany Echevarria, a 46-year-old migrant from Cuba, is recovering from a harrowing shark attack that occurred while he was snorkeling in the Florida Keys. The incident, which took place on October 25, resulted in multiple bites to his arm, requiring immediate medical attention. According to authorities, Echevarria was snorkeling with friends in Biscayne Bay when he was attacked by a shark. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m. and airlifted him to a local hospital for treatment. Echevarria suffered severe injuries and received 27 stitches as a result of the attack.
Echevarria recounted the incident to CBS News Miami, describing the moment when the shark lunged at him, nearly tearing off his arm.
