WNBA and Players’ Association Extend CBA for 30 Days

The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and its players’ union, the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA), have agreed to a 30-day extension of their current collective bargaining agreement (CBA), keeping it in effect until November 30. This temporary extension comes as both parties continue negotiations to finalize a new CBA, which would set the terms for player compensation, benefits, and other key issues. The agreement was reached following discussions that highlighted the need for clarity on salary structures, health benefits, and team responsibilities.

While the 30-day extension does not resolve the broader disputes, it allows the league and its players to continue operations without disruptions. The WNBA and WNBPA have been engaged in negotiations for several months, with both sides expressing a commitment to reaching a fair and comprehensive agreement. The extension provides additional time to address unresolved issues and could pave the way for a more permanent solution in the coming weeks.
