Ukraine Alleges Russia Violates INF Treaty with 9M729 Missile

Ukraine has accused Russia of violating the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) by deploying the 9M729 missile, which has an estimated range of up to 2,500 kilometers, exceeding the treaty’s 500-kilometer limit. The INF treaty, which prohibited missiles with ranges between 500 and 5,500 kilometers, was a key arms control agreement. The allegations come amid ongoing tensions in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with both sides accusing each other of violating arms control agreements.
