Eagles Acquire Former Pro Bowl CB Jaire Alexander from Ravens

In a move that adds depth to their secondary, the Philadelphia Eagles have acquired former Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick from the Baltimore Ravens. The trade, which was finalized on Saturday, sees the Eagles sending a 2026 sixth-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for the veteran cornerback and the future draft pick.

Jaire Alexander, who previously played for the Ravens from 2018 to 2021, brings extensive experience to the Eagles’ defense. Known for his solid coverage skills and ability to read routes, Alexander’s addition is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the Eagles’ secondary, especially with the team looking to improve its pass defense ahead of the 2024 season.

The trade also highlights the Ravens’ efforts to rebuild their roster while shedding some of their draft capital. By acquiring a seventh-round pick in 2027, the Ravens can use that asset to address other areas of need in their team. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ decision to trade down in the draft order may allow them to accumulate more assets for future rounds or other positions.
