Draymond Green Criticizes Dak Prescott: ‘He’s a Bum’

Draymond Green, a four-time NBA champion and forward for the Golden State Warriors, has recently taken a shot at Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. In an Instagram clip from an upcoming episode of the “Why is Draymond Green Talking About Football?” podcast, Green dismissed Prescott’s statistical output and labeled him a ‘bum,’ suggesting the quarterback will ultimately fail to live up to his substantial contract.

Prescott, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, has accumulated 2,313 yards through the air this season, placing him fourth in the NFL. Despite these numbers, Green argued that Prescott’s ability to deliver under pressure has been lacking. “He is getting some numbers and they stink,” Green stated. “Dak’s a bum … They will never win with Dak.”

Green clarified that he respects Prescott as a competent NFL quarterback but questioned his ability to perform in pivotal moments. “You have to understand, when I say bum, I’m not saying Dak Prescott isn’t a good NFL quarterback,’ Green added. “Of course he’s a good NFL quarterback. But I’m saying when the money is on the line, when it’s for all the marbles, who are you? He’s a bum.”

While Dallas’ offensive unit has been a strength, contributing to the NFL’s third-best offense in terms of points per game, Prescott’s turnovers and the team’s struggles in the red zone have been factors in recent losses. Green also referenced the quarterback’s $65 million contract, implying that Prescott has missed his opportunity to live up to the high expectations associated with such a deal.

“When they had their best teams, best offensive line in the league, they had all that to get to the playoffs, and he’s a bum,” Green said. “Now he’s making $65 million and it’s way harder to win. Like, you have to be like (Kansas City quarterback Patrick) Patty Mahomes good to be that highly paid and still go win. That’s a very hard thing to do. It’s over.”

The Cowboys’ recent performance has been mixed, with just four playoff wins in the last quarter-century and no Super Bowl appearances since 1995. As they prepare for their Week 11 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, the team’s playoff prospects remain uncertain, leaving fans to wonder whether Prescott can rise to the occasion or if Green’s assessment proves prescient.
