Kyiv to Consider Additional Funding for ‘Defender of Kyiv’ Program

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has announced that the city council will consider a draft amendment to the city’s target program ‘Defender of Kyiv’, which provides for an increase in support for the defense and security forces by another UAH 1 billion. The initiative comes as Kyiv faces growing security concerns, with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine necessitating heightened military preparedness.

The ‘Defender of Kyiv’ program, already a critical component of the city’s defense strategy, is set to receive additional funding to address gaps in resources and capabilities. The proposed amendment aims to ensure that the city’s defense and security forces are adequately equipped to respond to potential threats.

Klitschko emphasized the importance of securing Kyiv’s safety and stability, stating that the increased funding will be allocated to modernize equipment, enhance training programs, and improve logistics support for military personnel. The city council’s consideration of the amendment reflects a broader commitment to safeguarding the capital amid evolving security challenges.
