Naftogaz Group and the Greek company ATLANTIC-SEE LNG TRADE S.A. have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at diversifying routes for delivering liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine, Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Serhiy Koretsky announced. The agreement is designed to enhance Ukraine’s energy security by expanding the channels through which U.S. LNG can be delivered, a critical factor in the country’s ongoing efforts to reduce its dependence on Russian gas.
The collaboration between Naftogaz and ATLANTIC-SEE LNG TRADE S.A. is part of a larger initiative to strengthen Ukraine’s energy independence and ensure a reliable supply of LNG, particularly during the winter months when energy demand rises. This partnership is expected to support both industrial and residential sectors by providing a steady source of energy, thereby contributing to the country’s economic stability and growth.
As part of its strategy to diversify energy sources, Naftogaz is actively seeking international partnerships to secure LNG supplies. The cooperation with ATLANTIC-SEE LNG TRADE S.A. highlights Ukraine’s commitment to international energy cooperation and its efforts to position itself as a key player in the European energy market. This development is seen as a significant step towards achieving Ukraine’s long-term energy security goals.
