Following the G7 ministerial meeting in Niagara, Ontario, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced that Canada, the United Kingdom, and several other partners have pledged new defense and energy packages to support Ukraine. The announcements were made during a press briefing, where Sybiha emphasized the international community’s commitment to Ukraine’s security and sovereignty.
The new defense packages include advanced military equipment, training programs for Ukrainian forces, and logistical support to ensure the country’s defense capabilities remain robust. Energy support, meanwhile, focuses on stabilizing Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and ensuring a reliable supply of electricity amid the ongoing conflict.
Sybiha highlighted the importance of these pledges in maintaining Ukraine’s ability to defend itself while also addressing the humanitarian and economic challenges resulting from the war. The minister noted that the international community’s solidarity is crucial in upholding Ukraine’s territorial integrity and promoting a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
