Putin Enacts Mandatory Work Placement for Medical Residents

President Vladimir Putin has signed legislation requiring medical students in state-funded residency programs to complete up to three years of work placement at public hospitals and clinics. The new law, which comes into effect immediately, aims to strengthen the healthcare system by ensuring graduates gain practical experience before entering their professions. Under the provisions of the law, students who have completed their theoretical education will now be required to serve in public healthcare facilities, contributing to the workforce during their training period.
