EU and Ukraine Must Support Peace Plan, Kallas Says

European Union High Representative Kaja Kallas has reiterated the EU’s stance that any peace plan for Ukraine must be backed by both Ukraine and the European Union. In a recent statement, she emphasized that the EU’s position remains unchanged, with the goal of continuing to support Ukraine and intensify pressure on Russia to achieve a lasting peace.

Kallas, who is also the Prime Minister of Estonia, highlighted that the EU is committed to ensuring that any potential peace deal includes the full sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. She stated that the EU is working closely with its member states to coordinate a unified approach in diplomatic efforts with Russia and other international actors.

Despite ongoing tensions and the complexities of the conflict, Kallas reiterated that the EU is determined to support Ukraine through a combination of financial aid, military assistance, and diplomatic initiatives. She also underlined the importance of maintaining economic sanctions on Russia until a peaceful resolution is reached.
