Kamala Harris Condemns Trump’s Handling of Epstein Files

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has accused President Donald Trump of gaslighting the American people by withholding Epstein files, demanding he release them unilaterally. During a recent podcast appearance with The Bulwark, Harris confronted Trump, accusing him of evading responsibility by claiming he cannot release the files without congressional approval. She argued that as the executive branch leader, Trump should act unilaterally, emphasizing that he has often taken unilateral actions in his tenure.

The controversy intensified as Trump announced he had signed legislation to authorize the release of the Epstein files. In a statement on Truth Social, Trump highlighted that the bill was passed with almost unanimous support and noted that the Justice Department had already released nearly 50,000 pages of documents to Congress. He also pointed out that the Biden Administration had not released any files related to Epstein, further framing his actions as necessary and transparent.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act mandates the Justice Department to disclose all unclassified records and investigative materials connected to Epstein and Ghislane Maxwell, including details on trafficking allegations and internal communications. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed she would comply with the law, stating the files would be made public online in a searchable format within 30 days. The legislation reflects ongoing congressional efforts to ensure transparency in the case, with key lawmakers like Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna playing pivotal roles, and it has sparked significant public interest and debate.
