A 33-year-old woman faces murder charges in the stabbing death of a 52-year-old man in the parking lot outside the Stony Brook Yacht Club on Long Island. Police in New York have arrested Kacy Corso in connection with the brutal death of Christopher Millwater, who lived in Selden.
The altercation occurred in the parking lot adjacent to 21 Shore Road, a location that serves as a hub for visitors to two marinas, as well as the Three Village Inn, a restaurant and wedding venue. The area is known for its picturesque scenery and recreational activities, making the violent incident all the more shocking.
Surveillance cameras, which are installed around the yacht club, reportedly captured much of the altercation. Corso was due in court on Thursday, facing a charge of second-degree murder under New York law. It remains unclear whether additional charges will be filed against her.
According to a Facebook account associated with Corso, she had prior contact with Millwater, and a post from her page was liked by Millwater several days before the incident. Court records show that Corso had previously been charged with unrelated offenses, including illegally accessing a boat ramp parking lot in the neighboring town of Smithtown and remaining in a park area after dark.
Millwater’s Facebook page indicated that he had been undergoing treatment for cancer and was given an ‘all clear’ in October. His sister shared with News 12 that Stony Brook was his favored fishing spot. The tragic event has raised questions about the safety of waterfront areas and prompted concern among local residents and authorities.
While the case is under investigation, the community remains in shock over the violent incident that took place at a place typically associated with leisure and celebration rather than criminal activity.
