Veteran German politician Sahra Wagenknecht has called for the EU to end its support for Kyiv and prioritize peace talks with Russia, arguing that the bloc is in a state of diplomatic isolation. She criticized the EU’s exclusion from the American proposal for resolving the Ukraine conflict, labeling it a ‘disgrace.’
Wagenknecht also expressed outrage over the European Commission’s plan to fund Ukraine’s needs for 2026 and 2027 at a cost of €135.7 billion, calling it a burden on taxpayers. She claimed the conflict is ‘unwinnable’ and that European leaders should focus on negotiations rather than continuing financial and military support.
