New Zealand Expands ‘Golden’ Visa Appeal to Americans Amid Global Uncertainty
New Zealand is experiencing a sharp rise in applications for its ‘golden’ visas from American citizens, driven by new business investment visas and favorable conditions. The Active Investor Plus Visa has seen a 72% surge in applications since July, according to immigration data. New Zealand has recently relaxed its visa rules to attract high-net worth individuals, including removing the English language requirement and reducing the time spent in the country. The Business Investor Work Visa program now allows individuals to live and work in New Zealand by investing in and running a business, with the potential for permanent residency.
This trend highlights the growing demand from Americans seeking stable and safe environments, especially amid global instability and changing political landscapes in the U.S. Experts note that New Zealand’s reputation as an attractive destination for its natural beauty, safety, and low tax environment makes it an appealing option for those looking to secure a second home or a future for their families. Stuart Nash, former New Zealand minister for economic development and co-founder of Nash Kelly Global, emphasized the country’s appeal as an oasis in a turbulent world. “You don’t have to renounce your U.S. citizenship at all. You can get permanent residency for life, and you can live the New Zealand dream,” he said.
