Hamas Denies Ending Ceasefire with Israel Amid Allegations of Fabrication
Reports suggest that Israeli and international media have accused Hamas of ending the ceasefire in Gaza and resuming military operations. Hamas has however denied these allegations, stating that the claims are fabricated by Israel to justify renewed hostilities. A senior member of Hamas’ political bureau, Izzat Al-Rishq, accused Israel of manufacturing pretexts and using the allegations as a reason to return to its campaign of destruction.
The controversy began when earlier media claims suggested that Hamas had informed US envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, that the ceasefire with Israel had ended. According to these reports, Hamas cited repeated violations of the truce by Israel as the reason for ending the agreement. Al-Rishq denied these claims, stating,
