Saints Coach Kellen Moore Reflects on Justin Tucker’s Tryout Following Suspension

For the first time since his 10-game suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, Justin Tucker has a tryout with the New Orleans Saints. The team, which recently lost to the Atlanta Falcons, is looking to evaluate Tucker’s performance after he missed two of his three field-goal attempts in the game.

Saints head coach Kellen Moore spoke about Tucker’s tryout, emphasizing the importance of his experience and leadership on the field. Moore, via Nick Underhill, noted that Tucker has been a cornerstone of the Ravens’ success for over a decade, winning a Super Bowl and earning seven Pro Bowls. Despite the suspension, Moore believes Tucker’s journey is about collecting the lessons from his experience, which includes both his on-field accomplishments and the challenges he has faced off the field.

Tucker, who was suspended for 10 games this season, accepted the penalty, which was one game less than the suspension imposed on Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson for a similar situation in 2022. The Ravens decided to move on from Tucker after he struggled in 2024, making 22 of his 30 field-goal attempts while missing two of his 62 extra-point attempts.

Tucker’s wife, Amanda, stood by her husband, stating that the false allegations against him have caused significant hurt to their family.
