U.S.-Backed Aid Group Concludes Gaza Mission, Cites Success in Aid Delivery

The U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has concluded its mission in the Gaza Strip, stating it has successfully delivered over 187 million meals without encountering Hamas looting. The foundation, which launched its operation on May 26, claims it provided more than 1.1 million packs of ready-to-use supplementary food (RUSF) for malnourished children.

GHF Executive Director John Acree emphasized that the organization’s goal was to meet an urgent need and show a new approach could succeed where others had failed. With the formation of the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) and increased international engagement, GHF believes it has transferred its successful model to broader humanitarian efforts.

Despite its success, GHF faced criticism from U.N. aid organizations accused of corruption and alleged support for Hamas. The group was also subjected to attacks, including accusations of casualties at distribution sites and accusations of weaponizing aid. A whistleblower reportedly stated that the IDF is supporting GHF’s efforts while U.N. agencies like WFP and OCHA are hindering aid distribution.
