Crockett Mocks Greene for Resigning After Trump Clash

Rep. Jasmine Crockett has openly mocked the decision of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to resign from Congress following a contentious fallout with President Donald Trump. During an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union,” Crockett expressed skepticism about Greene’s ability to withstand Trump’s criticism, noting that it had only been a week since Greene had opposed the president. “You’re on the other, side of the president for one week, and you can’t take the heat?” Crockett questioned, drawing a parallel to the challenges faced by her own party and the threats that come with opposing Trump.

Greene, who had previously been a staunch supporter of Trump, grew increasingly critical of the president and her own party following disagreements on the Epstein files, health care, and the government shutdown. She alleged she had faced threats after Trump referred to her as a ‘traitor.’ However, Crockett highlighted that other Republicans, including Thomas Massie and Lauren Boebert, had also faced Trump’s ire for supporting the release of the Epstein files but continued to serve in Congress.

Despite their long-standing tensions, Crockett had previously shown some sympathy toward Greene after Trump disengaged from her. Crockett had even tweeted at Greene, telling her not to trust Trump, noting that Trump’s priorities were self-serving. With Greene’s resignation, the political landscape is shifting, and Crockett is now considering her own future, with reports indicating she may challenge GOP Sen. John Cornyn in a Senate bid.
