DHS Dismisses Democratic Claims of Misinformation on ICE Crackdowns
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has criticized Illinois Democrats for calling the ICE crackdowns a ‘misinformation campaign.’ Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated that ICE is targeting the most dangerous illegal immigrants, including those convicted of heinous crimes such as sexual assault and drug trafficking. The Democrats, led by Sen. Dick Durbin, argue that DHS is misrepresenting its actions and that the enforcement efforts are causing fear and constitutional violations.
