The two giant pandas, Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, have been returned to China after spending 12 years at the Beauval Zoo in France. Their repatriation marks the end of a conservation loan agreement between China and France. The Chinese embassy has stated that new pandas will be sent to France at a later date as part of the ongoing collaboration.
