Dak Prescott Hopes for CeeDee Lamb’s Strong Performance in Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Showdown

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is counting on star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to deliver a strong performance in the Thanksgiving game against the Kansas City Chiefs, despite recent drops in critical passes. Lamb, who is close to reaching 7,000 receiving yards in his first six seasons, has struggled with dropped passes in recent games, including a potential touchdown against the Eagles. The Cowboys’ quarterback remains confident in Lamb’s ability to bounce back, citing his previous responses to similar challenges.

Lamb’s performance has been inconsistent lately, with drops occurring in both the season opener against the Eagles and after returning from a high ankle sprain. However, the quarterback remains confident in Lamb’s ability to perform under pressure, citing his resilience and previous strong responses to similar challenges. According to the team’s website, Lamb did struggle in the season opener against Philadelphia, dropping three passes. But he responded the following week against the New York Giants with nine catches for 112 yards. Similarly, after missing time due to a high ankle sprain sustained in Week 3, Lamb returned for a Week 7 matchup against the Washington Commanders and caught five passes for 110 yards in the 44-22 win.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer also echoed Prescott’s confidence in Lamb, stating that the receiver loves the bright lights and has the look in his eye that means business. Schottenheimer mentioned that Lamb’s performance after the first Philadelphia game showed his determination. The coach indicated that there will be plenty of balls going to 88 (Lamb’s jersey number) on Thursday afternoon. Lamb enters the game with 44 receptions for 632 yards and two touchdowns. The game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
