Trump Proposes ‘Reverse Migration’ Plan Amid National Guard Shooting

President Donald Trump unveiled a ‘reverse migration’ plan on Truth Social, proposing a permanent halt to ‘Third World’ immigration and a reversal of Biden-era policies. The strategy aims to suspend migration from nations deemed ‘Third World,’ revoke millions of Biden-era admissions, and remove foreign nationals labeled as security risks or incompatible with Western values. Trump stated the approach would allow the U.S. immigration system to fully recover, while also vowing to end federal benefits for noncitizens and expand deportations.

The announcement coincided with a shooting incident involving two National Guard members near the White House, which officials described as a ‘targeted’ attack. One guard, Sarah Beckstrom, 2, of West Virginia, has died, according to Trump’s earlier announcement. The second service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains in critical condition. The suspected shooter, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, entered the U.S. legally in 2021 under humanitarian parole under Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome initiative, following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Trump closed his social media post with a warning to critics, stating, ‘Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won’t be here for long!’ The shooting incident and associated tensions highlight the complex interplay between domestic policy and national security concerns amid heightened political rhetoric.
