A University of Cambridge criminologist, Manuel Eisner, has led a project mapping medieval murders in London, York, and Oxford, revealing patterns in 14,th-century homicides. The study includes the case of Ela Fitzpayne, a noblewoman who ordered the murder of her lover, John Forde, in 1337. The research highlights social and economic factors influencing violence, with London showing distinct clusters and Oxford having higher violence rates due to disorganization.
