The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a U.S.-backed group with Israel’s endorsement, has begun distributing food in the war-torn Gaza Strip despite widespread controversy and skepticism. The organization, which has faced significant scrutiny before its aid distribution efforts, has established four aid centers in coordination with Israeli authorities and the United States. GHF claims that supplies have reached its hubs and that more trucks are expected to arrive, with the goal of providing aid directly to civilians. Despite these efforts, the organization has encountered criticism for its operations, including concerns about the impartiality of its distribution plan and the involvement of armed contractors in its logistics. The head of the GHF, Jake Woods, resigned shortly before the aid began, citing the organization’s inability to adhere to humanitarian principles. The United Nations and other aid groups have also expressed reservations about GH, calling it a distraction from the urgent need for comprehensive humanitarian support in Gaza.
