Florida Set to Execute ‘Casanova Killer’ After 30 Years

Glen Rogers, a self-proclaimed serial killer who once claimed to have killed 70 women, is set to be executed in Florida on Thursday. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed his death warrant last month, nearly three decades after the crimes.

Rogers, 62, was dubbed the ‘Casanova Killer’ due to his modus operandi of charming women in bars and then attacking them. His execution follows a long legal battle, multiple convictions for murder, armed robbery, and grand theft of a motor vehicle, and attempts to overturn his guilty verdict that were unsuccessful.

Rogers was convicted in 1997 for the murder of 34-year-old Tina Marie Cribbs, a mother of two who failed to meet her mom or show up for work. Her lifeless body was discovered in a Tampa motel room rented by Rogers, according to court documents.

Rogers received another death sentence in California in 1999 for the murder of Sandra Gallagher. He met her at a Van Nuys bar in September 1995, and her badly burned corpse was found in her truck near his apartment a day later.

While in custody, Rogers also claimed to be responsible for the murder of 70 women, including those linked to the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, though the Los Angeles Police Department dismissed that claim.

Rogers has been suspected in other homicides across the country, including Florida, California, Ohio, Mississippi, and Louisiana. His attorneys argued he was abused as a child, and those memories were only unlocked well after he was sentenced.

Rogers is set to be executed by lethal injection on Thursday at Florida State Prison near Starke. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
