FBI Director Patel Dismisses Conspiracy Theories Over Epstein Files Amid Trump’s Defense of Bondi

FBI Director Kash Patel has dismissed rumors of internal strife within the Trump administration’s law-and-order team, rejecting ‘conspiracy theories’ about potential resignations tied to handling the Jeffrey Epstein files. The controversy emerged after the FBI and Department of Justice released a memo refuting theories about an alleged Epstein client list, with the review concluding the disgraced financier died by suicide in 2019. Meanwhile, President Trump took to social media to defend Attorney General Pam Bondi, criticizing his supporters for targeting her, whom he accused of being part of a ‘fake dossier’ conspiracy.

Fox News reported Friday that Patel’s Deputy Director, Dan Bongino, was considering resigning if Bondi remained in her role as Attorney General. Reports suggested Patel might also step down, but he swiftly denied these claims via social media, stating that ‘conspiracy theories just aren’t true.’ Patel emphasized his commitment to serving Trump, stating, ‘It’s an honor to serve the President of the United States @realDonaldTrump — and I’ll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me.’

Hours after Patel’s post, Trump took to Truth Social to voice his dissatisfaction with his followers’ reactions to the Epstein files scandal. He criticized his supporters for allegedly targeting Bondi, whom he praised for her ‘fantastic’ performance. Trump claimed that the Epstein files were ‘created by the Radical Left Lunatics,’ accusing former President Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA director John Brennan, and the Biden administration of orchestrating the release of the files to harm the MAGA movement.

Trump accused his followers of betraying the MAGA movement, describing the Epstein case as a distraction from the country’s current ‘hot’ status. He warned that the focus should remain on maintaining the country’s strength, stating, ‘Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.’ The allegations sparked a wave of MAGA hat protests, with supporters criticizing what they perceived as coordinated attacks on Bondi.

Patel and Bondi have maintained a united front, with sources close to Bondi insisting she has ‘no intention of stepping down.’ Despite the rumored conflict, the administration continues to project unity, with White House Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields emphasizing that Trump’s law-and-order team is ‘working seamlessly and with unity.’ Fields stated that any attempts to sow division within the team were ‘baseless’ and distracted from the progress being made in restoring public safety and pursuing justice for all.
