2025 Harvest Progress: 7.2 Million Tonnes Threshed, 54.6% Behind Last Year’s Target

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food released a report detailing the current status of the 2025 harvest season. According to the data, farmers have successfully harvested 7.226 million tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops as of July 18, covering an area of 2.355 million hectares. This figure represents a notable decline compared to the previous week’s harvest of 2.62 million tonnes from 919,900 hectares. The report indicates a 54.6% shortfall in the harvest rate relative to the previous year’s performance.

The Ministry noted that the reduction in harvest rate may be attributed to various factors, including adverse weather conditions, fluctuating crop yields, and potential production challenges faced by farmers. The report serves as a critical indicator of the agricultural sector’s health and its implications for food security and economic stability. Officials are expected to analyze these figures to formulate strategies for improving future harvest yields and addressing current challenges faced by the agricultural industry.
