Former Biden Aide Annie Tomasini Subpoenaed by House Committee

Former President Joe Biden’s long-time aide, Annie Tomasini, has been subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee to testify as part of an ongoing investigation into potential cover-ups related to Biden’s mental and physical decline during his presidency. Tomasini, who served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the former president, is the third ex-Biden administration aide to be subpoenaed in recent weeks, following Anthony Bernal, who previously pleaded the Fifth Amendment during his deposition.

The House Oversight Committee, chaired by Republican James Comer, is examining allegations that Biden’s top aides concealed signs of his decline and may have authorized executive actions without his full knowledge. Comer has dismissed claims that Biden’s doctors sought to delay the probe, stating that the committee is focused on the allegations of misconduct. The committee has since heard from several other aides, with some appearing in closed-door depositions. Lawmakers have been largely absent from these sessions, as they are typically staff-led.

The probe has drawn significant attention, with some lawmakers, including progressive firebrand Rep. Jasmine Crockett, making surprise appearances. The investigation has also been highlighted in a recent book,
