Sara Haines, co-host of ‘The View,’ recently took aim at Democrats over their handling of former President Joe Biden’s health cover-up, calling it a “trust issue” with voters. Haines criticized the party for dismissing public concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities and for failing to acknowledge the legitimacy of voter worries. She argued that Democrats should concede the point and move forward to rebuild trust. The discussion also touched on the release of a book, “Original Sin,” that revealed efforts to conceal Biden’s declining mental state. Haines pointed out that the issue is not just about Biden’s health but also about how Democrats are perceived in the eyes of the public. She emphasized the need for the party to recognize the concerns of voters and to handle such matters with transparency.
The conversation surrounding Biden’s health reached a breaking point in May with the release of “Original Sin,” by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson, which looked into the efforts made by top Biden aides and allies to hide the truth about his mental and physical health. The book contained numerous scenes depicting a president who was confused, forgetful, and diminished in office. Haines said that Democrats might be more trustworthy if they did not dismiss the concerns about the 46th president’s health. She argued that the problem is not what’s going on with Biden and that’s the past, but if elected Democrats do not recognize that they should concede that point when voters talk about it, they should be able to concede, „We understand your concern. It was legitimate,” and then move on. It will never stop being talked about.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin also said Congress has a role to look into the questions surrounding Biden’s use of the autopen. Haines further suggested that the GOP is splitting on the issue, noting that they trusted the Trump administration on the Epstein files but are not getting that trust. She also mentioned that fewer people trust the Trump administration on the immigration issue but admitted that Democrats lost some credibility with voters when it came to the cover-up of Biden’s health. Haines emphasized the importance of addressing public concerns about Biden’s health to maintain trust and avoid further division.
