Coldplay’s Chris Martin took to the stage at their recent performance in Madison, Wisconsin, to alert fans that they might be featured on the venue’s jumbotron. This came shortly after a viral Kiss Cam incident at a previous concert involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, which led to a formal investigation and Byron’s resignation. During the Wisconsin show, Martin humorously told the crowd, ‘If you’re at a Coldplay concert, then yes, you might be featured on the jumbotron.’ The warning prompted both cheers and laughter from the audience, as the band continued their Music of the Spheres World Tour.
The incident in question occurred during a previous concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where Byron, the CEO of Astronomer, appeared on the Kiss Cam with his arms wrapped around a woman who was later identified as his company’s HR chief, Kristin Cabot. The pair were on the big screen during ‘The Jumbotron Song,’ where Martin improvises songs about couples in the audience. The woman immediately covered her face and turned away from the camera, while a stunned Byron ducked down and exited the frame. Martin then joked that, ‘Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.’
Following the incident, Astronomer released a statement on social media, affirming their commitment to the values and culture that have guided the company since its founding. They stated that ‘Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.’ The board of directors initiated a formal investigation into the matter, with additional details to follow shortly. In another update on Friday, the company announced that Byron had been placed on leave and an interim CEO had been appointed. Eventually, Byron resigned from the company, with the board accepting his resignation and beginning a search for the next chief executive.
It was later confirmed by Fox News Digital that Kristin Cabot and her ex-husband finalized their divorce in 2022, and New Hampshire property records show that Kristin and Andrew Cabot purchased a home as a married couple in April 2024. No divorce records were found for Byron, who appears to still be married. Grace Springer, the TikTok user who posted the video of the viral moment, told The U.S. Sun that the moment was a ‘hot topic’ among concertgoers, but she had no idea who the couple was until she posted the video. Springer expressed some regret over the situation, stating that she hoped ‘their partners can heal from this’ and that her video might have been a ‘blessing in disguise.’
