Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer against Gildardo Amandor-Martinez, an illegal immigrant accused of murdering a 15-year-old boy and attempting to rape his mother in Morehead, Kentucky. According to reports, Amandor-Mart, a 36-year-old suspect, allegedly tried to rape his girlfriend, Aleida Lopez, at their apartment before biting her hand, armpit, and hurting her arm. In the process, 15-year-old Luis Lopez, who was defending his mother, was shot three times by the suspect. The alleged attacker then proceeded to assault Lopez’s daughter, also a minor, with a firearm. Amandor-Martinez is now facing charges of murder, first-degree assault, and first-degree attempted rape. The incident has drawn criticism from Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, who blame the administration’s open-border policies for allowing this criminal to remain in the country.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin condemned the incident, stating, “15-year-old Luis Lopez died trying to save his mother from this criminal illegal alien who was attempting to rape her. Gildardo Amandor-Martinez is a rapist and cold-blooded killer who should have never been in this country.” McLaughlin further accused the Biden administration of allowing such individuals to roam free, claiming that its open-border policies enabled this suspect to commit these heinous crimes. The report highlights the growing concerns over border security and the dangers posed by undocumented immigrants who may have criminal histories. Rowan County Senior High School mourned the loss of Luis Lopez, noting that he was a
