Six Maryland Women Arrested in Multi-State Burglary Ring, Three Taken into ICE Custody

Law enforcement officials in Massachusetts have arrested six Maryland women in connection with a multi-state burglary operation. The suspects, who were linked to an organized criminal group and had outstanding warrants from other states, were apprehended following a dramatic chase and were charged with breaking and entering, conspiracy, and possession of burglary tools. Three of the women were subsequently taken into the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following an arraignment. The Norwood Police Department and ICE are collaborating on the case, which is ongoing as more details emerge.

The incident began when Norwood Police responded to a report of a break-in at a home near Neponset Street on Friday afternoon. Homeowners returned to find several women inside, and after confronting the intruders, the suspects fled to a vehicle and drove away. Later in the day, an officer spotted a vehicle matching the suspect’s description, leading to a short car chase before the six women exited their vehicle and ran on foot into a nearby wooded area. One suspect was apprehended at that time, according to Norwood Police.

The following day, an officer saw several of the women behind a business, who ran away again after being approached. They were eventually caught and taken into custody. Another officer, with help from a detective, apprehended two more suspects as they tried to flee across a nearby river. The final suspect was arrested shortly after, according to Norwood Police.

“Thanks to the coordinated efforts of on-duty officers, specialized units, and mutual aid partners, all six suspects involved in the break-in were taken into custody,” Norwood Police Chief Padden said in a statement. Authorities confirmed the women’s identities, revealing they were related and that several of the suspects had outstanding warrants from other states for similar crimes. The case is under investigation, and the Norwood Police Department is actively working with other jurisdictions to gather more information and build a comprehensive case against the group.
