ABC News’ ‘The View’ Faces Criticism for Political Bias in 2025

A study by the Media Research Center has found that ABC News’ ‘The View’ has featured 102 left-leaning guests in 2025 without a single conservative to discuss politics, highlighting a perceived lack of balance. The MRC analyzed every episode of the show from January 6 to July 25, noting the absence of any right-leaning guests, as reported in a previous study from April. The media watchdog continued its monitoring, finding no change in the trend.

NewsBusters associate editor Nicholas Fondacaro explained that ‘The View’ has become a platform for the Democratic Party’s agenda, pushing narratives that smear Trump and his allies while elevating Democratic politicians. He emphasized the need for the show to evolve, as its original intent was to be a space for women to express their views. The current format, however, reflects a skewed representation, with only one perspective being prominent.

The study highlighted that 19 Democratic politicians, including former President Joe Biden, joined the show in 2025. Fondacaro pointed out that Biden’s handlers chose the show for its supportive environment, which coddled him and his wife during a controversial interview. The show also welcomed former Obama administration figures and liberal celebrities, reinforcing the left-leaning narrative.

Despite this, some insiders at ABC News suggest that the study’s conclusions are based on ascribing political leanings to guests without discussing politics. They argue that celebrity guests are invited for their projects, not their political stances. However, Fondacaro noted the show’s co-hosts have abandoned on-air legal disclaimers, indicating a shift toward more extreme content.
