New Traffic Stop Video Reveals Bryan Kohberger’s Vehicle Linked to Idaho Student Murders

A newly released traffic stop video has provided further insight into the life of Bryan Kohberger, the individual responsible for the 2022 killings of four University of Idaho students. The footage, released by the Latah County Prosecutor’s Office, shows Kohberger, who was previously charged with the murders, being pulled over on August 21, 2022, for speeding and not wearing a seat belt. The video, which has been shared with prosecutors, is part of an effort to demonstrate the vehicle he used – a white Hyundai Elantra – in the context of the crime. During the stop, the deputy noted that the car was being driven at 42 mph in a 35 mph zone, and Kohberger admitted to not being aware of the limit. Despite the speeding, the only citation issued was for not wearing a seat, with a fine of $10. The incident took place near the University of Idaho, highlighting the proximity of the crime scene to Kohberger’s previous academic setting at Washington State University. Kohberger, who has pleaded guilty to the murders, was sentenced to life in prison earlier this month.
