The incident, which resulted in twelve injuries, including one in critical condition, has prompted law enforcement to describe it as a ‘targeted terror attack.’

According to court documents, Soliman spent a year preparing to hurl Molotov cocktails at the pro-Israel event, which he cited as a ‘Zionist threat.’ He reportedly researched how to build incendiary weapons on YouTube, collected ingredients over time, and transported the devices to Boulder in his silver Toyota Prius. The attack occurred on June 1, 2024, at 2 p.m. MST, when Soliman launched two Molotov cocktails at the gathering in the Pearl Street area of Boulder.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the attack and faces federal hate crime charges under 18 U.S.C. §§ 249(a)(1) and (a)(2), which prohibit acts motivated by race, religion, or national origin. Law enforcement recovered at least 14 unlit Molotov cocktails, along with gasoline, red rags, and a weed sprayer, from his vehicle. His home and a storage unit behind it were also searched, with authorities finding papers bearing the words ‘Israel,’ ‘Palestine,’ and ‘USAID.’ His wife later turned over his iPhone, which contained messages to his family, to authorities.
