Reno Casino Shooting: Suspect Fired 80 Shots, Leaving 3 Dead, Multiple Injured
Dakota Hawver, 26, has been identified as the suspect in the deadly Reno casino shooting that left three people killed and several others injured. According to investigators, Hawver fired 80 shots during the rampage, which began when he walked to the valet area of the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino just before 7:30 a.m. Two victims, Justin Aguila and Andrew Canepa, were fatally shot from behind while waiting for a ride to the airport. A third victim, Angel Martinez, was killed when the suspect jumped out from behind another vehicle while driving through the parking lot. Hawver is reported to have legally purchased the gun two years ago and the ammunition recently, with no prior criminal history or mental health issues. The shooting began with the suspect’s gun initially malfunctioning, followed by a confrontation with an armed security guard and responding police officers, leading to a gunfight that left Hawver critically injured.
