Ukraine’s BankID System Surpasses 50 Million User Identifications in H1 2025

The National Bank of Ukraine’s (NBU) BankID system has recorded impressive growth in the first half of 2025, with over 50.8 million successful electronic identifications reported. This represents a 32% increase compared to the same period in 2024, demonstrating the system’s increasing importance in the country’s financial ecosystem.

The second quarter of 2025 saw continued progress, with 23.6 million user identifications, marking a 3% year-over-year increase from the 22.3 million recorded in Q2 2024. This growth underscores the system’s growing adoption, particularly in the context of digital banking and financial services.

The BankID system, which enables secure online identification for citizens, is a critical component of Ukraine’s digital transformation strategy. Its expansion is expected to enhance cybersecurity measures and support the efficient delivery of financial services. As more users adopt this technology, the National Bank of Ukraine continues to play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and improving digital access within the country.
